Career

"What are you going to do?", is one of the most frequently heard questions. It is also the number four reason depressed people give for their misery. Dammit how difficult do you have to make it for a hobo.

It is astounding how much people obsess over something that brings so much grief in so short a life.

I have to give it to the puritans, their worship of labor and work is pretty much the secular dogma of our times. People have been brainwashed to "find themselves" through their work. Work is evil in a Keyzer Soze way, it will come after your happiness, its relatives and so on till none is left. There is not a damned reason to work hard for a career and even if you do there are no jobs.

You work soul crushing work for free at poverty levels for some rich fuck in hopes of getting hired to do the same shit at subsistence level and the whole episode is called Internship. You have the job stability of a housefly and your entire life revolves around work, work related shit, work shit and work and work. All this while the pretty girls are out at the malls sippin lattes, at a play rehearsal or in a freakin park watching sparrows build nests, but you will never find that out because you were working. Two-thirds of your waking hours burnt away trying to chase unicorns.

It is astounding how tightly humans embrace misery and let go off the things that bring joy. I have seen people wake up late at night reading inane shit in hopes of getting a leg up but stipulate the amount of hours they can have fun. Playing Tekken and enjoying, can't do that for long. The programming is so perfect that you actually feel guilty for pleasuring yourself and not feeling like a total shit.

Life is not that expensive if you cut to the essentials and everything else is masturbation with spikes. Fuck this career bullshit, I will scrape by chasing cute girls and meeting people who bring joy to my life. I may be a loser but who wants to be a winner if the prize is a Career.
